What You Will Be Doing

This position is for a self-motivated antenna and RF/microwave engineer to develop and package RF frontends for transmit and receive systems. This involves the design and analysis of narrow and broadband antennas and arrays using full-wave EM simulations, as well as their prototyping, fabrication, integration, and characterization of the developed antennas. The position requires design experience in passive and active RF device packaging, such as LNAs, MPAs, filters, transmission lines, and electro-optic (EO) devices. As a senior member of the RF team, this engineer will work across different projects and project teams that are involved in microwave/millimeter wave system design/build, packaging, characterization and field testing. Responsibilities include the following:

Conducting research on various antenna projects involving the design of novel antennas and evaluation of antenna designs using computational electromagnetic tools, e.g., HFSS, antenna prototyping, characterization, testing, and overall antenna system design.
Design various RF circuit devices using EM simulation tools, such as wideband power splitters, RF filters, RF diplexers, and RF hybrids.
Design packages for integration with RF amplifiers (LNAs and MPAs) and RF probes with other EO devices.
Test, characterize and diagnose operational problems within RF/microwave circuits.
Communicate with team members to optimize overall system performance.
Keep current with leading technical innovations and apply them to improve system design and operation.

What You Need for this Position

Bachelor's Degree (MS or PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering or similar with 2+ years of experience in the following:

Experience in antenna design, antenna and electromagnetic analysis tools, computational
electromagnetics, and implementation of new and established techniques, and the application of new
methods to solve specific problems
Experience in microwave/millimeter wave circuit design, and system modeling
Proficient in the use of EM simulation software, i.e., ANSYS HFSS, or equivalent high frequency microwave full-wave EM simulation tool, and RF circuit analysis tools
Fluent in multiple various scientific software programming languages from Matlab, Python, C++, Labview; proven ability to understand complex applied mathematics and numerical implementations, and optimization
Experience with RF characterization equipment such as VNAs, PSGs, and ESAs, VSA to characterize passive and active RF devices
Able to problem solve and troubleshoot independently
Good communication skills and team working mindset
Compliance with ITAR requirements
