We are one of the largest Capital Improvement Contractors in the Western United States and we are looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish to ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.
Responsibilities
" Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
" Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
" Supervise the work of laborers, field team etc. and give them guidance when needed
" Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
" In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
" Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
" Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
" Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations
" Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
" Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory
" Meet contractual conditions of performance
" Review the work progress on daily basis
" Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
" Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
" Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
" Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
" Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
" Good knowledge of Excel & MS Office
" Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
" Excellent organizational and time-management skills
" A team player with leadership abilities
Requirements and skills
" Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
" Proven working experience in construction management
" Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
" Understanding of all facets of the construction process
" Familiarity with construction management software packages
" Competent in conflict and crisis management
" Leadership and human resources management skills
" Excellent time and project management skills
" BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field a plus
