Position Overview
The Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems that support business functions and applications. This role requires a strong understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization to ensure data quality and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement database solutions to support application development and data management needs.
Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and database tuning.
Collaborate with software developers to define data requirements and ensure database integrity.
Maintain and upgrade existing database systems as necessary.
Conduct database backups, recovery, and data migration activities.
Monitor database performance and implement improvements as needed.
Document database structures, processes, and procedures for future reference.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3+ years experience as a Database Engineer or similar role.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with Python and Django framework.
Experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools.
Proficient in using version control systems, particularly GitHub.
Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and server management.
Knowledge of database optimization techniques and best practices.
