Business Property Tax Accountant

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Business Property Tax Accountant to manage and ensure compliance with property tax regulations, conduct financial analysis, and prepare accurate financial reports. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in minimizing our company's property tax liabilities while maintaining strong client relations and communication.

Key Responsibilities

This is a dual-focused role supporting both business license/permit renewals and personal property tax filings primarily 571-L filings
The role will collaborate to support filings for 400+ stores and 3,000 license/permit renewals annually
Manage and prepare business property tax returns and filings.
File personal property tax returns (571-L), primarily for stores and related fixed assets equipment, machinery
Collaborate with store managers, AP, real estate, OSC (fire inspections), and new construction teams
Maintain and improve tracking systems for filings, including a store-level Excel tracker

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience in business license/permit renewals and/or property tax filings
Prefer fixed asset and property tax experience or Proven experience as a property tax accountant or similar role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax compliance.
Experience with financial analysis and reporting.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
Research skills to stay informed about tax regulations and compliance.
Proficient with FAS (Fixed Asset System), Excel, various state/county filing systems
