Established (200+ Years Combined) Law Firm Seeking Litigation Associate (Asbestos) in NYC
An established firm with amore than 200 years of combined history and a strong Northeast presence is seeking a Defense Litigation Associate with 2+ years of experience to join their team in NYC. This role involves representing asbestos defendants across various industries in state and federal courts nationwide and working collaboratively with attorneys across multiple offices.
Offer:
$135,000 - $175,000 salary contingent on experience
Hybrid remote opportunity available

Qualifications:
2+ years of deposition and courtroom experience in toxic tort matters required
Preference for candidates with specific asbestos defense experience
Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
Admission to the New York Bar required
Admission to Connecticut, Massachusetts, and/or New Jersey (or ability to waive into NJ) preferred
Responsibilities:
Take and defend depositions on a regular basis
Conduct legal research and collaborate on defense strategies
Manage claims through dismissal, settlement, motion practice, or trial
Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, and motions
Represent clients at courtroom appearances
Maintain a minimum of 1,900 billable hours annually
